The ‘Me Too’ movement shook India last year as a lot of well-known personalities have been accused of sexual harassment. Starting from lyricist Vairamuthu to various directors and musicians.
Singer Chinmayi Sripada was the main force in this movement and during the October month, the singer shared on Twitter about the singer Karthik saying that Chinmayi had used some strong language against Karthik and mentioned “we know about Karthik. He always misuses his popularity. He would tease several women on the same day. I have myself experienced this”. But Kartik had not commented at that point in time.
Today, the singer posted a long message regarding the accusation. He started by paying homage to the brave hearts who lost their lives in Kashmir. He has then gone on to say he denies the allegations against him. “I have not harassed or hurt anybody. If I have hurt someone, that person can come to me in person directly and I am willing to meet that person. The reason for my silence all these months is due to the deadly illness my father has been afflicted with. That is the reason I kept away from social media and going out meeting people”.
