This year was very special, with a lot of new records created and many old records were broken. But also, this year was ruled by women in sports. Though men did their part and we are proud of them. But this time Women broke the stereotype with extra support from the previous ones.
Here the list of events, where women created new records!
1. Hima Das gave India its first Gold Medal at a Global Track Event

18-year-old, Hima Das won a gold medal for the country in a field it has never been won before. In a global track event, she won the 400-meter final at the World U20 Championships in Tampere, Finland.
2. Mithali Raj, Indian cricketer to become the highest scorer in T20Is

Mithali Raj was sent in to open the innings against Pakistan, as India was eyeing a payback for their two-run loss in the last T20 World Cup. Surprisingly, she surpassed Rohit Sharma and became highest scoring cricketer in India in T20Is.
3. Marry Kom won 6th World Championship Gold

One of the most inspiring women India today is Marry Kom. Her struggle and journey became the inspiration for many women out. To be the first woman to win the 6th gold medal in a World Championship boxing tournament. The woman who fought against the bullying and difficulties of being a boxer in this cricket-crazy country, to break and create records over and over again.
4. Harmanpreet Kaur became the first Indian Cricketer to hit Century in Women’s T20Is.

With Just 49 balls, Harmanpreet reached the 3-digit number of 103 runs. With 8 sixes and 7 boundaries, she became the first Indian cricketer to score 100 in women’s T20.
5. Mann Kaur won Gold at the world Master Athletics Championship.

102-year-old, Mann Kaur proved that Passion has No Boundaries, Not even Age Matters. In 200m, World Master Athletics Championship, with 102-year age but with a Young and Passionate heart won not only the Gold But also the hearts of many. Must learn how to live a life from Mann Kaur.
6. Swapna Burman gave India its first Heptathlon Gold in Asian Games.

When it comes to passion for something, nothing can stop it. Swapna Burman rode the Heptathlon with bandaged-Jaw and 6 toes in both her feet won first Gold for India. She created History in the Books of India with Golden letters.
7. Manu Bhaker, youngest athlete to win first Gold for India at Shooting World Cup.

A 16-year old girl made the entire country proud by winning the first Gold at shooting World Cup. Manu Bhaker is basically from Haryana and beats two male athletes, Rifle shooter Gagan Narang and pistol shooter Rahi Sarnobat, who each won the gold medal at the age of 23 and in the year 2006 and 2013, respectively.
